Well, my first year in the PhD program at Calvin Seminary is in the history books, and overall I am rather pleased with the way it all went. It was the most demanding academic year and schedule I have ever had (for example, writing over 190 pages for 6 courses) and the most rewarding.
Currently I am in a French Paleography course with Prof. Tom Lambert, who has done extensive work in the Archives of Geneva. I must say it is a blast, but it is definitely all about staring at squiggles. Try this sample on for size, it was part of our homework for tonight - an excerpt from an account by Calvin, written by le spectable Pasteur himself. I will post some links soon on dictionaries and resources available online. a bien tot.
